Helicopter flying is not cheap. But it is not as expensive as people think. It compares with activities such as sailing or golf, and a friend of mine spends as much on her two horses as I used to on helicopter flying. As a PPL(H), you might decide to hire a helicopter and fly with family or friends to a hotel for lunch, landing in the grounds. This would probably cost no more than, say, a day trip to France, since you would only pay for the hours actually spent flying...and what an experience!
